Maize high students are acting out Robert Harling’s Steel Magnolias.

Justin Ralph and Kathleen Barbara started the production of this play back in Dec. Since then the cast has had practice every day.

Around 25 students auditioned to get a spot in the play that consists of only six parts. Steel Magnolia’s a play that focuses on the lives of six different women.

Junior Allison Pieschl plays Shelby Eatenton Latcherie.

“I auditioned because I love performing and I felt like this play was a good fit for me,” Pieschl said.

The cast also contains seniors Lauren Spencer and Nicole Walker, junior Sophia Wagner, and sophomores Lauren Voigt and Rooslana Rusk.

This play will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 5,6 and 7 in Ms. Barbara’s box theater, located in room C13.
