Moon beats Kansas win record

Senior Brett Moon fell 3-1 in overtime in the championship match against Clay Lautt from Saint James during his fight for his second state title on Saturday. Although, he now holds the Kansas record of most wins with 181.
“I wasn’t nervous; I don’t really get nervous,” Moon said.
The state record for most wins in Kansas as of Friday was 179 wins. Moon had 178 at the beginning of the tournament. After winning his first match against Sam Payne from Topeka, by pinning him in the first 45 seconds, he was tied with the state record at 179. He then went on to compete against Ricardo Yanez from Turner. He pinned Yanez while ahead 16-0. He had broke the record.
