The varsity wrestling team placed 12 in Saturday’s invitational at Newton High School.

Senior Brett Moon placed first in his weight class, senior Alex Hydock and sophomore Cameron  Hughbanks placed fourth.

“[Placing fourth is] pretty good because it’s a very big tournament, bigger than state,” Hughbanks said, “[My goal is to] be better than I was at the beginning of the season and to place at state.”

As a team Hughbanks said he believed they did good, but they can always do better.

Their next invitational will be at Wichita Heights this Saturday.
