Seniors Will Mercer and Sophia Wagner are one of the five Homecoming candidates for the 2016 homecoming dance.

Mercer is involved in band and forensics. Wagner is the Historian of Drama club, the program director of National Honors Society, orchestra and Gay Straight Alliance.

“I’m taking this candidacy way, way, way too seriously,” Mercer said regarding his interest in becoming homecoming king. “I don’t want people to vote for me, they should vote for whoever they want,” Mercer said.

Much like Regina George from the movie Mean Girls, Sophia had a rather traumatic experience that lead her to her candidacy.

“I ran for Prom Princess. I lost and then I got hit by a car. Dead serious the day after I got hit by a car,” Wagner said.

If Mercer won he said he’d celebrate by just going to bed.

“How would I celebrate? Oh, I’d probably go home and go to bed.” Mercer said.

Wagner prefers to celebrate with food.

If  Mercer could describe himself as one food item it would be flavorless cold pasta. Wagner said she would be a Zero Bar.

“Because nobody’s heard of me but once they get to know me, I’m the best candy bar,” Wagner said.
