Students Against Destructive Decisions club sold flowers to students in order to bring attention to rising above the influence.

Students at Maize were allowed to purchase a flower during En-Cor or lunch. They could plant a flower for someone who inspires them, themselves or someone they know that overcame drugs and alcohol, live above the influence or if someone they knew was going through a hard time.

Everyone who purchased a flower was able plant their flower around the eagle in front of the school during En-Cor on Oct. 27. SADD members helped to get all of the flowers planted.  The flowers planted were red daylilies, white speckled tulips and red tulip bulbs.

They were also given cards to give to the people the flowers represented. The cards said “I believe we are here for a reason. As each day unfolds, we see less of the shadow and more of the sun.”

This was all dedicated to thinking above the influence.
