Suicide prevention speaker visits Maize

This year’s suicide prevention week is Sept. 9-11.

“During Suicide Prevention week we will have a speaker come and talk to the school about what they can do to prevent suicide and what they can do if they are feeling suicidal,” Students Against Destructive Decisions adviser Dana Desjardins said.

Liz McGinness, suicide prevention speaker, will talk to students during En-Cor Sept. 9, 10 and 12. Freshmen and seniors will be on Sept. 9, sophomores Sept. 10, and juniors Sept. 12.

SADD will also be selling bracelets in the commons before school and during all three lunches for $1. All the proceeds from the bracelets will benefit the organization.
