Wrestlers place 8th at Enid Tournament

Six Wrestlers place at Enid Tournament, while also placing 8th as a team.
Six wrestlers place at Enid Tournament, while also placing 8th as a team.

The wrestlers went off to Enid, Okla. to wrestle at a tournament against 17 other teams. They had six wrestlers place, the most they have had this season.

“We did really well,” coach Mike Schauer said. “Prior to last week, the most we’ve placed was three places.”

Schauer believes that his team is more of a tournament team rather than a dual team. The team placed in the top half, placing 8th out of 18 schools total.

“I have some kids wrestling better than I thought they would,” Schauer said. “Brett ended up winning, and Devon Baker got second in their weight divisions.”

The following placed at the tournament: Cole Moses, Alex Hydock, Cameron Hughbanks, Devon Baker, Brett Moon and Chad Gloudeman.

The team will wrestle next at the Maize dual against Salina South at 6 p.m on Dec. 18 at Maize.
