Kay club trick-or-treated Oct. 15 to raise money for the United Nations International Children’s Educational Relief Fund (UNICEF).
UNICEF is an organization headquartered in New York City that provides developmental assistance to mothers and children in developing countries.
Kay club trick-or-treats every year to raise awareness to people about what UNICEF is and ask if they’d like to donate.
“It’s really fun,” senior Kay club president Mariah Rey said. “We have people dress up in different costumes, last year there was even a lobster.
Kay club has been involved in this event for more than 20 years and raises about 400 to 600 dollars every year.
“We never really have a particular goal of how much money we want to raise,” Rey said. “We just go out with the mindset of however much money we raise will help the UNICEF organization.”
