Junior Jennifer McIntyre drives the golf ball.

The girls golf team won the league tournament Oct. 7 beating Hutchinson by two shots at Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton. They also played against Derby, Newton, Salina Central and Salina South. Senior Brooke Johanson placed second with 83 shots and junior Jennifer McIntyre placed ninth with 94 shots.

“I was struggling a little for the past couple of weeks,” McIntyre said.

They have previously not played their best.They took seventh with 369 shots at the Wichita North Invitational at Sim Park Golf Course on Oct. 8.

“I really came back and did better than I had been previously doing,” McIntyre said.

They tee off regionals at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Reflection Ridge.

“I hope I will do good.” McIntyre said. “I’ve played it for the three years.”
