StuCo members are planning a field day for May 21.
“So basically you come on the last day of school and you’re excited because it’s the last day of school. And then you get there, it’s just like movies and boring,” StuCo president Kyle Baldwin said. “We want to get away from that and we want to give students something to look forward to all day.”
Throughout the day there will be athletic and non-athletic events that students can choose to participate it in. During each block there will be one big event and several smaller ones.
“We know some teachers have finals on the last day. So you may not be able to go out and participate every block. Even if you can just go out for one block it’ll still be fun,” Baldwin said.
There will be a talent show, a chalk drawing competition, class banner making competition, a three-legged race, a pancake feed, a football throwing contest, a water balloon toss and more.
Inflatables and big hamster balls will also be available for students to participate in.
The individual winner of each event will receive points going towards their graduation class for an overall class competition. The winning class will receive their prize the following school year, giving students a reason to look forward to next year.
