Three students received medals from the National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards over spring break for their art pieces.
Kansas was awarded six gold medals, as a whole.
Senior Payton Calabria and junior Chloe Cloud won two of the gold medals while junior Courtney Lang won silver.
“It’s pretty awesome to be one of three million people,” Cloud said.
The students’ work will be displayed on June 6 at Carnegie Hall in New York City for people to see from anywhere in the country.
“A girl from Kansas gets to show off her work to the busiest city in the country,” Lang said.
