The girls basketball team won their last game of the season to clinch a part of the AVCTL championship defeating Newton 44-37.
With the regular season over, the team prepares for sub-state.
“It’s the start of postseason,” coach Jerrod Handy said. “This is what you work so hard for all season long.”
Handy wants the team to keep getting better in all categories, but is focusing on improvement of defense.
“We got to keep working on our defense,” Handy said. “Knowing how to guard people the right way.”
The team will be playing Campus at 7 p.m. Wednesday at home.
