For the past four years Jay Super, the horticulture teacher at Maize Career Academy, has been hosting a plant sale in hopes to raise money for the class, and to  increase the students’ education in plants and the care giving that needs to be done to keep them alive.

“I’ve always loved plants and I love sharing my love with these students.” Super said. “I love getting students excited about plants, a lot of them love plants and just don’t know it yet.”

Growing all the plants themselves, the students from Maize and Maize South, have been soiling, planting, and watering these plants to get them ready for the sale.

“We got to grow everything that’s being sold, and it’s really cool to see the progress that we’ve made since we started,” said Lexi Cole. “We got to do this all together and that was really my favorite part.”

Selling different kinds of tomatoes and peppers, to hanging flowers and succulents, the price of these flowers are completely donation only.
