Reviews and rankings: ‘Red’ (Taylor’s Version)

If you haven’t been living under a rock this past week, you most likely know that Taylor Swift released her album, “Red” (Taylor’s version), this last Friday Nov 12th.

My sister and I stayed up until 11pm Thursday night to listen to the new album, since the album dropped at 12am EST. The streaming platform we were using was Spotify and for about 10 minutes the app crashed because of how many fans were on it all at one time. The album has 30 songs on it and the duration is around 2 hours long. We finished listening to the album around 1:30am with stoppage time after every song to talk about it for a minute before listening to the next.

Not only did she re-record and release the album, she also thought of more ways to get fans hyped up for the release. Taylor and Starbucks collaborated and had the stores serve her favorite drink from Starbucks called a Caramel Lat(tay), this drink is a grande caramel nonfat latte. She also directed a short film to her song “All Too Well” (10 minute version) starring Sadie Sink, Dylan O’Brien, and herself. She also released a music video to one of her vault songs “I Bet You Think About Me”.

I am going to attempt to rank the songs that make up “Red” (Taylor’s Version). I truly love all of these songs so I already know this is going to be a challenge and my rankings today probably would not be the same as my rankings tomorrow.

  1. The Moment I Knew

  10. Message In A Bottle

I had such a hard time figuring out rankings for these songs because I truly love all of them. Even now going through the rankings there are some songs that I think deserve to be placed higher but there are songs I like over them.

You might notice that “Ronan” can not be found within the rankings, this is due to the sensitive nature of the song and its topic. I have decided it would be disrespectful to rank a song with such a sensitive subject as this.
