Junior Connor Lungwitz has verbally committed to Wichita State University for baseball. Lungwitz, though, said he would still like to pursue a career in football.

“Right now I’m just keeping my options open,” said Lungwitz, a pitcher and infielder in baseball and quarterback in football. “Basically by me committing, it means that if I play baseball, I play at WSU.”

Lungwitz has loved playing baseball since he was young, but that changed some when he came to high school.

“Growing up baseball was always my favorite,” Lungwitz said. “Once I got into high school, football became a different game.”

Lungwitz holds the school record for career touchdown passes and TD passes in a season. Last season, he was named to the VarsityKansas.com All-Metro football team.
