The cross country girls’ team won first in regionals and boys placed sixth on Oct. 22. The girls ran a 4K and the boys ran a 5K. Mady Nestor, 10, ran the race in 15:39.
“Coach says are team should do well (at State), so I hope we place in the top ten,” Nestor said.
Katie Trumble, 10, placed sixth, running her 4K in 15:59.
“I like to run because it is fun and it is a good atmosphere to run in,” Trumble said.
State cross country, hosted by Kansas State High School Activities Association, is on Oct. 29 in Wamego, located near Topeka.
The boys’ team also did well at the regional meet, placing sixth in 4A.
Jake Braschler, 10, placed 18th, by running a 5K in 17:30.
“I love to run and work hard” Braschler said.
