Boys swimming prepares for season

Every year returning athletes hope for the best for the season. State, metals, meeting goals and everything that comes along with it. With swimming approaching the boys get ready to take on the competition.

“I think this year is going to be interesting because we have a good freshman class coming up,” junior Christopher Clemons said. “We need seniors to step up and lead and it will go well.”

Setting goals and working hard is a major factor that goes into playing a sport.

“This season my plan is to stay healthy and have the whole team do well at state,” senior Colin Olson said.

While some are in good shape, others work on getting stronger from recent illnesses or injuries.

“I need to recover from mono and get my strength back,” Clemons said. “But I would like for the whole team to come together as a family and do great at state.”

As a whole the boys are excited for the season and hope to do as well as last year even with the new team members.

“We always come in the season with high expectations,” Clemons said. “But its hard to tell until you go through a couple weeks.

The first meet is Dec. 7 at the Northwest Wichita YMCA.
