Seniors Mea Ames, Andrew Houseman, Eryn Bayliff, Jason Lin and juniors Amanda Branom and Noah Hale took third in the Scholars Bowl Tournament of Champions this weekend.

“The Tournament of Champions follows a different format than typical Scholar’s Bowl,” Branom said. “We spent a lot of time getting used to that form.”

The tournament lasted a total of eight hours long.

“The hardest category for me tends to be Social Studies,” Branom said. “We all specialize in different categories, and I’m not much of a history buff. Luckily, we have other people on the team who are.”

The team will compete at regionals this Thursday and Branom has high hopes. She said winning regionals is a great goal for them since they have great competition within the region.

Winning regionals will give the team good momentum heading into their last tournament of the season–state.
