Despite all the good uses AI could be put to, it can cause harm for artists who have their work stolen and copied by others. Maize High Choir teacher Doris Prater received a surprise Thursday during her third block class. She was awarded the Golden Apple Award, a $250 check from Papa John’s, and pizza for the whole class.

“I was very surprised and had no idea what was happening but I wondered why Mr. Botts was in my classroom twice in one day,” Prater said.

This award represents excellence in teaching. Prater was featured on KAKE News Saturday night at 6 p.m. along with the other winners of the Golden Apple Award.
