The soccer team cruised to a 10-2 win against Shawnee Mission East on Saturday at Maize.

Maize’s high-octane offense produced once again, led by junior MaKayla Toth’s four goals. Senior Katie McClure added a hat trick for the Eagles. Toth picked up three of her four goals within the first twenty minutes of the first half.

After another dominant performance, Maize grabbed the number one overall ranking in the state. Shawnee Mission East struggled against the speed of Maize throughout the game.

The Lancers did manage to score two goals in the game, doubling the previous amount given up by Maize all year.

Maize will hope to continue their strong season on the road against Newton on Tuesday.
