Everybody has a story: Joshua Frerman

Editor’s note: This is a series of stories that will spotlight Maize students chosen at random. The idea comes from reporter Steve Hartman’s series formerly broadcast on CBS News.
Although sports stereotypically seem to be the most popular activities for teenage boys, junior Joshua Frerman can prove that to be wrong. Frerman has been interested in cars for about 11 years.
“I’m not really a sports person. I’m not really a shopping person,” Frerman said. “So I guess my kind of thing is what goes fast.”
Frerman likes all cars with two or four wheels, not just muscle or sport cars.
“Probably anything with a Rotary Engine, like a RX-8 or an RX-7,” Frerman said.
If Frerman could have any car in the world he would want a Bathurst RX-7. He also enjoys going on adventures with his friends and being involved with cars gives him an advantage to get out of the house and do so.
Cars give him something different than the same old sports and video games that a lot of teenage boys fond over.
“It’s just something different that not a lot of people do,” Frerman said. “You can really connect with people that are around it.”
