The girls basketball team defeated Liberal 44-37 in the first round of the sub-state tournament.

The girls team went into half time leading the game 16-14. Liberal would come out in the third quarter to take the lead 30-20 after three quarters.

The Lady Eagles battled backed to to force overtime with a score of 35-35.

The team would continue their run as they only allowed Liberal one basket in overtime.

Junior Brecken Roe lead the team with 11 points and sophomores Caitlyn Stewart and Lauren White were next behind Roe with eight points each.

The team will play in the sub-state championship at 6 p.m. on Saturday at Bishop Carroll.
