Growing up I sat watching multiple divorces tear families apart. Step siblings became strangers and moving houses became a hobby. Love seemed far away, a figment of my imagination, a feeling that was unattainable. Love was when the princess met Prince Charming, or when Gabriella met Troy. It wasn’t something that existed in my family.

Until last year when I met him.

I came face-to-face with a decision that changed my life forever. They always said, “There are plenty of fish in the sea.” But I never thought they were serious. He is the greatest person to ever come into my life. He’s been there for family feuds, tears, and more laughs than anything else. He helped bring my family together. We started bonding over things we had never before thought of.

One day, it hit me that I wanted to be with him for the rest of my life. I had fallen in love. Love transformed from a vague idea to a feeling I was truly experiencing first hand.

I never expected to find him at a time when family and friends seemed so far away. He made things easy when life was so hard.

He is the most incredible cat.
