September 28, 2015
Sophomore Carson Pierce was the fastest female runner with a time of 21:21 at the Rim Rock cross country meet last Saturday. Sophomore Nate Jones was the fastest male runner with a time of 17:27.
At Rim Rock, one of the biggest meets in the Midwest, the boys placed 27th and the girls placed 31st.
“They need to run against competition like that so they can aspire to be greater and it can motivate them to run faster,” coach Skeeter Rankins said. “Don’t get deer in the head lights about the competition or about a particular course. Every time you race it’s always a 5K and every body else is doing it too… Don’t let your mind play games with you.”
The Eagles next meet will be on Saturday at Junction City.
