The tennis team placed 5th out of 9 teams during a tournament on Sept. 10.

Freshman Alaina Cunningham and Lindsay Adams took third as a doubles team which is the highest ranking out of all the girls on the team.

The girls tennis team played at Wichita Collegiate, going up against El Dorado, Valley Center, Andover, Andover Central, Collegiate, Kapun Mt.Carmel and McPherson.

“We are doing okay. We lost 5 out of our 6 varsity players because they were seniors that’s been hard to come back from but we still have two really good senior singles players and we have two or three really good doubles teams,” sophomore tennis player Mandi Copp said.

The girls’ next meet will be on Sept. 12 at Salina Central.
