The Eagles started off their conference doubleheader defeating Derby 2-0 when Connor Lungwitz shut out the Panthers’ offense.
In the first three innings of the first game, Lungwitz consecutively struck out all of his batters. With nine strikeouts accounted for in the first three innings, Lungwitz finished the game with a career high of 13 strikeouts. Only allowing four hits in the first game, the Eagles made sure the Panthers had little opportunity to score.
The Eagles went cold in the second game losing 10-3 after losing an early lead in the fourth inning. The Panthers scored four and took the lead for the rest of the game.
