Ramon Mosate, former Maize technology director who was believed to be under FBI investigation, has died, according to http://www.kansas.com/news/local/education/article18267809.html.
According to his obituary, Mosate, 49, died Wednesday in Irving, Texas. The cause of death was a single gunshot to the head, according to an official with the Dallas County Medical Examiners office. The manner of death was suicide, the official said.
Mosate had worked for the Maize district since August 1997. He was placed on administrative leave in November of 2014 when the FBI executed a search warrant at the Educational Support Center. He was later terminated from his job in February of 2015.
Superintendent Doug Powers released a media statement Saturday.
“We at Maize Schools are shocked and saddened by the news of the death of Ramon Mosate. Our hearts go out to his family.”
