The boys basketball team lost the first game of the state tournament to Wichita East 59-46 eliminating them from continuing in the state tournament.
The team was able to keep it close for the first quarter, but East would eventually pull away from the Eagles.
“I feel like we didn’t play our best basketball game of the year,” coach Chris Grill said. “I think that’s what we needed to win that game.”
Though it may not have been the best game for the Eagles, Grill said he was proud of the way that they played.
“I thought we were ready and prepared,” Grill said. “I knew that we had to play well in order to win. We lost to a good team.”
Though the season may not have ended the way the team and Grill wanted it too, Grill still said it was a great season for the team.
“We have nothing to hang our heads about,” Grill said.
