Ambitions for the melancholic artist
February 3, 2015
Do you ever have this warm feeling you get in your belly? The one where it feels like a campfire roaring inside you. Or what about the goosebumps you get when are doing something you absolutely love?
That’s what music does for me. Music is a way to express emotions, relieve stress or a get away from reality. Something so simple and yet so complicated brings people together and gives common interests.
Music has influence on our mindsets and shapes our personalities. It gives people individuality when they feel cluttered from everyday stress.
It is truly amazing how a simple song can change your mood so drastically. Nirvana and Sum 41 might make people want to break things. Bands like Of Monsters and Men and Mumford and Sons give that sense of comfort. Seeing anyone play live is an amazing experience. You grow a connection when seeing someone on stage you enjoy.
My dream is to be on stage with people who help create one of life’s most beautiful creations. The goosebumps when you hear the crowd scream. The feeling of success you get when you finish a show. To me, it isn’t about fame and money. Being on stage and giving people a show is why I do what I do.
Music helped me find who I am. Lyrics help me cope through life, while the music gives me a path on how to feel and look at life.
Some days I want to listen to metal and forget about the world. Others, I want to relax and listen to indie.
However, every day is perfect for a jam session with my band mates and to let the music speak for itself.
Playing any instrument is a blissful harmony where nothing else matters.
