The boys basketball season is just one day away. With a new season, comes new changes.
Head coach Chris Grill has taken the spot of coach Davis, who went on to take a new job opportunity outside of the Maize district this year.
“They’re getting used to me still and I’m getting used to them,” Grill said. “Early in the season there’s a lot they still don’t know about their team that we’re working on.”
There’s also a lot of changes the team has had to make in their gameplay.
“Defensively there’s a lot of things I want to do they’re not used to doing,” Grill said. “The boys need to stop thinking so much and just play.”
This year a lot of excitement has been put on the group of players going into the season.
“We have a lot of depth and a lot of talent,” Grill said. “There’s a lot of really good players which makes it exciting in practice because it’s very competitive. I think the boys are really excited to get out there and play someone.”
The boys will hit the court in their opening game 7 p.m. tomorrow at home against Valley Center.
