Last Friday night, at the Maize-Maize South Game, Maize South faked a fourth-down kick and completed a pass for the first down. It went overlooked by the referees until further investigation after the game.
This is considered a “Hide-Out” play which should result in a 15 yard penalty, which Maize South didn’t receive.
The officials agree with the conclusion and acknowledge their mistake.
Senior football player Kendall Stewart says that it was not up to him.
“It’s nothing that I can control, it’s out of my hands. It’s not that big of a deal.”
Stewart believes that the play didn’t affect the game.
