Students should get ready to travel for this week’s homecoming theme.
“The students voted on the traveling theme. They also really wanted to push for the dance to be formal this year. They wanted each day to lead up to the big ‘Night in Paris’ dance,” StuCo adviser Megan Sauer said.
As far as the themes for each day Monday was “‘Merica Monday,” so students wore red, white, blue, as well as stars and stripes to show off their patriotic side.
Tuesday was “Tuesday in the Tropics.” So everyone wore beach attire that was school appropriate, Hawaiian styled clothes, leis, and flowers. The Jersey Auction was also on Tuesday, during Encore. The entry fee was $1. Capture the flag will be at 6:00 tonight on the soccer field.
Wednesday is “Wild Wednesday,” and students should wear anything with safari, jungle, camouflage, and animal prints. The powder puff game will be at 6:30 that evening, on the football field.
Thursday will be “Tired of Traveling Thursday,” which is a pajama day. There will be a pep assembly on Thursday during Encore, with skits from the Homecoming nominees. You will be able to vote for the candidates during all three lunches. Thursday night at 6 will be the Maize High meets Coachella music festival. The bonfire will follow after the festival.
Friday’s theme is “Fly Home Eagles Friday.” This is class color day. Freshmen will wear gray, sophomores will wear red, juniors will wear white, and seniors will wear black. The homecoming parade will be during fourth block. The homecoming game against Valley Center Friday night, starting at 7. The theme for the game will be neon night.
Ending homecoming week will be the formal dance from 8:00 p.m.- 11:00 p.m. The theme is “A Night in Paris”, and it will be held in the Maize High commons.
