Tennis team aims high for 2013 season

The tennis team began their 2013 season placing eighth out of 11 teams at the Wichita Collegiate meet Aug. 24 .

Senior Olivia Medaris placed eighth out of 21 players in singles.

“I played four matches, won one and lost three,” Medaris said.

With 40-plus players and eight seniors on the team, the Lady Eagles are looking forward to rebuilding success since winning league and regionals last year.

”We lost four of our top six players, with two returning singles players and trying to rebuild two double teams,” coach John Anderson said.

Seniors Hannah Hills and Medaris hope to regain last year’s titles while trying to play at state.

“We have had real success in the past seasons with winning league and regional in the same year,” Anderson said.

The next tennis match will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at home.
