In the month of September The Thirst Project, a club that helps raise money to build wells in underdeveloped countries, is having a fundraiser called the Pack to School Campaign.
“For every pack which is a backpack, folder, notebook, pen, and pencil our sponsor will donate $25, which is enough to give one person a lifetime supply of water,” said senior Nicole Walker who established the club.
This fundraiser will be held nationwide and the school who raises the most money in the country will win a free Jesse McCartney concert.
“To be honest, my goal is 25 packs,” said Walker. “But since we are starting so late in the month I might have to change that to 15.”
If the lowered goal of 15 packs is reached, Maize would raise $375 and save 15 peoples lives.
“I think the fact that you are saving somebody’s life spurs me on more than the Jesse McCartney concert,” said Walker.
