Girls take second in Emporia; boys fourth

The cross country team competed in the Emporia Invitational Sept. 13. The girls varsity team finished in second place out of 12 teams. Senior Deidra Walker ran with a final time of 14:51, resulting in a first place win. Senior Kate Utech earned second place by finishing with a time of 15:09.

Top finishers for the boys varsity include Senior Cole Bosley in seventh place with a time of 16:52 and Senior Max Berg in twelfth place with a time of 17:13. The boys varsity team finished fourth overall.

The cross country team will compete in their next meet Sept. 20 at the Cessna Activity Center in Wichita.
