The Maize Sports Extravaganza will be from 5 to 11 tonight. Parents and family are invited.
Each fall sport team will have its own activity in the main gym, on the soccer field, on the football field or on the tennis courts. The night will be filled with free inflatables, Maize Fire Department waterworks, eagle apparel, snow cones, cotton candy, concessions, a dunk tank, “pie a cheerleader,” raffles, a bake sale and club information.
The girls tennis team will have a parent/daughter tournament at 5:30 on the tennis courts.
The volleyball team will play a scrimmage at 6:30 in the main gym.
“We have really good numbers with our freshman class; they’re dedicated,” volleyball coach Betsy Manning said. “On varsity we returned seven out of the 10 girls from last year. Our team will be very seasoned.”
The first volleyball tournament is Sat. in Hutchinson. The first match will be against Maize South.
Fireworks, funded by the Maize High Booster Club, will follow the Extravaganza starting at approximately 9 p.m.
The dance is located on the football field and will be DJ’d by Joel Gutierrez of 80h8 Productions.
