Hella Sports Construction replaced the football turf for approximately $605,000 late July to manage drainage and player safety.
“It’s a little softer so that will help with injuries,” Maize athletic director Eric Wolgast said.
A stronger base and the new logo is featured with the new turf.
“The base under the turf was causing an unsafe environment,” Wolgast said.
The football team will play their first home game Friday Sept. 6.
