On Friday, October 25, the Maize South High School Mavericks faced off against the Hutchinson Salthawks in a matchup of teams both holding 5-2 records.
The Salthawks emerged victorious, defeating the Mavericks 42-20. The ground game proved to be the key to success, as Hutchinson would rush for more than 300 yards on the night. Senior Kade Smith led the way, rushing for 181 yards and 3 touchdowns for the Salthawks.
Despite the loss, Maize South showed resilience, consistently challenging Hutchinson’s defense. The Mavericks remain determined to carry their competitive spirit into future games.”
