Students who sign a pledge that they won’t text and drive will have their names put in a drawing for a free limo ride.
The winning student will get a one-hour limo ride that can be used whenever they want, SADD club sponsor Dana Desjardins said. Students who sign the card also get a clear holder and lanyard, she said.
SADD is trying to raise awareness for the damage texting and driving can cause. There was an assembly Thursday during fourth block with Austin Breitenstein and his mom, Julie. Austin, a Maize graduate, was critically injured in a texting and driving accident in 2009.
