As of Jan. 30, Liz Bernett, South’s librarian, sent her two weeks notice to the faculty at South.
“I wanted to be a library assistant next year,” Dani Howard, 11, said. “But she told be that she wasn’t going to be here and that made me upset because I love being around Liz.”
David Hickerson, South’s principle, had released a notice to South’s staff that the library will be shut down until the school has found a new para. Even though South is currently conducting interviews, there is no set date for the reopening of the library.
For current access to the library, Maize High media specialists, Janette Dillion and Debra Harris, will be helping students in the library Wednesday and Thursday from 7-12 of this week only. Other than that students must be accompanied by a teacher.
