The varsity volleyball team went 6-0 at the Winfield Tournament Aug. 27, winning each game they played.
According to Teri Larson, coach, the team has worked hard to cooperate with one another. The team practices weekdays for nearly two-and-a-half hours after school.
“I think they’re (teammates) all great, and I’m looking forward to the season,” Kelsey Sterneker, 10, said.
The Winfield Tournament was from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Maize South beat Augusta, Mulvane, El Dorado, Parsons, Arkansas City and Wichita Trinity to take first in the tournament. Larson was satisfied with the results
“(I am) pretty happy about the results and that they’re (upperclassmen) really gel-ing with the new girls,” Larson said.
