Girls’ JV tennis team took first place out of five teams at the Buhler JV Tennis Tournament on Aug. 23. This was the team’s first match and win of the season.
Addie Hermanson, 10, won first in #1 Singles.
“It felt good to start off the season on a positive note,” Hermanson said.
Girls’ tennis practices at the evenings 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. through Monday to Friday.
Claire Cervantes, 9, and Alexa Weese, 11, won first in #1 Doubles, Mori Lobe, 11, and Nikki McCormick, 10, took second in #2 Doubles and Kyleigh Sorenson, 10, took fourth in #2 Singles.
“It’s exciting to face new schools,” Cervantes said.
The Maverick girls’ tennis team plays again on Aug. 25 at home in a tournament hosted by Maize South.
