The Eagles are one step closer to the playoffs after defeating Dodge City 17-14 Friday.
The Eagles trailed 14-10 going into the fourth quarter after Dodge City blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown.
Junior quarterback Connor Lungwitz, who passed for 170 yards and a touchdown Friday, had a two-yard touchdown with 5:24 left in the game to make the score 17-14.
The Eagles improved to 2-0 in Class 6A-District 8. They will qualify for the playoffs with a win Friday at Hutchinson or a Garden City loss to Dodge City. They also can advance on a tiebreaker. The playoffs start Nov. 8.
