Tis’ the season for the sound of children knocking on doors and ringing doorbells in search for a treat rather than a trick.
But KAY club is hoping for something a little different.
Students from KAY Club at Maize and Maize Middle School will partner together to trick-or-treat for donations on Oct. 30. All proceeds will go to the United Nations International Children’s Educational Relief Fund.
Maize has participated in this event for more than 10 years.
“We go in small groups to different areas around Maize,” junior KAY Club president Mariah Rey said. “It’s really fun because we get to dress up and go to doors and instead of asking for candy we ask for donations.”
Last year KAY Club raised $549.13 for UNICEF.
“We are hoping to raise a lot of money this year,” Rey said. “We have a lot of people signed up so we are hoping for a great turn out.”
