For the third time in school history, Maize will take on Maize South in basketball on Friday at Maize South.

“I’m excited because those are our rivals,” sophomore Sydney Holmes said. “Plus, we always have a big student section and it’s a lot of fun.”

Holmes said she is hoping to come out with a win, but also hoping to prove herself as well as the team against an undefeated Maize South.

Senior Carson Shively said he’s excited to support his Eagles.

“It’s always fun to watch the game, I’m hoping we beat them pretty good,” Shively said.

The girls varsity game will begin at 6 p.m. with the boys varsity following at 7 p.m..
