The girls tennis team placed ninth out of 22 teams in the state competition Oct. 19 at Maize South.
Seniors Hannah Hills placed 11th and Olivia Medaris placed ninth. Sophomore Tiffani Holman and junior Kate Utek reached the second round in doubles.
“I was happy to medal again. There was a match I wish I did better in. I was happy when it ended,” Hills said.
The girls tennis team won league and regionals. Four of the six varsity players qualified for state and two medaled. Coach John Anderson expects good things out of next season.
“We’ll have two state qualifiers back, Tiffani Holman and Kate Uteck,” Anderson said. “We’ll be rebuilding to find four more varsity players to fill those places. We have a solid JV team.”
