The Maize South vocal department is putting on their winter showcase tonight in their auditorium at 7:30. The concert is $6 for adults and free for anyone 18 and under.

“I’m excited for it,” junior Reagan Frye said. “I think it’ll be a lot of fun”.

This year, the choir is putting choreography, solos and short videos into this concert.

“There are mainly upbeat songs and some slower songs since this is a christmas concert,” Frye said.

The concert features multiple Christmas classics such as a rendition of Blue Christmas by Elvis and Mr. Santa, a parody of The Chordettes’ 1954 hit Mr. Sandman.

“They’re all upbeat and fun” junior Faith Shrum said. “I think it will go pretty smooth as long as everyone can get to the right spot on time and not talk during other performances.”

To perfect the concert, the choir has also had multiple rehearsals and choreography days.

“We’ve been practicing Christmas music since before our first concert,” Shrum said. “For the past month, we’ve been practicing the dance and singing with it the whole block until we have it down.”
