August 1, 2018
All you have to do is take a quick scroll through senior basketball player Caleb Grill’s Twitter account to see that he is one of the most heavily recruited athletes in Maize history.
Grill has been posting Tweets announcing the schools he has received offers from since last November, when he received his first offer from South Dakota State.
Today, he made his final decision, committing to South Dakota State. He will make it official on Nov. 14, the first day basketball players in the Class of 2019 can signs letters of intent.
“I’m excited to be a Jackrabbit,” Grill said. “It was the best fit for me and I love the coaches and players there.”
Grill received 16 offers. Among them are schools such as Texas Tech, Nebraska and Colorado State.
He said he feels stress free now that he has made the decision.
“It’s tough because you build good relationships with multiple coaches and you can only choose one,” he said.
Grill has played 54 career games and has scored a total of 719 points, averaging 13.3 points per game.
