Boys basketball defeats Ark City in sub-state

Maize defeated Ark City in an intense sub-state game, with a close score 46-45.

In the first quarter, Maize and Ark City were tied 16-16.

At the half, Ark City led 25-23.

In the third quarter, Maize got back on top 33-30.

Senior Grant Bugbee scored 13 points, sophomore Devon Koehn scored 12, junior Jalen Johnson scored 6, junior Antonio Espinoza scored 6, senior Kaden Jobe scored 5, sophomore Deriq Doty scored 2, and sophomore Brandle Studevon Jr. scored 2.

The boys will be back in action Saturday at Eisenhower for the sub-state final.
