Boys basketball loses to Derby

The Eagles lost to Derby at home on Friday night’s homecoming game in a close 69-62.

In the first quarter, the Eagles were behind 9-17 and at the half Maize was still behind 26-31.

In the third quarter, Maize was in the lead 45-43 but, fell to Derby in the forth quarter losing the game by 7 points.

Senior Grant Bugbee scored 26 points, sophomore Caleb Grill scored 13 points and junior Dalyn Johnson scored 8 points. Grill and Bugbee scored 3 three-pointers for the Eagles.

The boys will be back in action Feb. 7 away at Haysville.
